A Few Announcements

November 6, 2015

I know many of you have been blogging a long time, some of you as much as a decade. I’m still a rookie at this with only five years under my belt. Still, I’m proud of reaching a milestone: this is my seven hundredth post. It seems like only yesterday that son CJ was helping build my blog and patiently explaining how it worked. I still have a lot of stories to share and I look forward to doing so until my creative well runs dry—which Mrs. Chatterbox claims won’t ever happen.

In addition to writing, I’ve been working every day on Protest II. This project has taken much longer than expected. I started in June and my goal was to finish by the end of September before the cold weather set in. Now I find myself out in the garage, blowing into my hands for warmth and trying not to drop my paintbrushes. I guess this is as close as I’ll get to suffering like a starving artist shivering in an icy garret. My revised deadline is now Thanksgiving. I’ve already ordered a frame and cleared a wall in our dining room, so this project WILL come to an end. I’ll post final pictures as soon as I finish and add my signature.

On a related note, another reason for the delay in completing Protest II is that Mrs. Chatterbox and I are once again packing our suitcases and heading to the airport. On Monday we’re flying to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for two weeks of fun in the sun to celebrate our birthdays; Mrs. C. celebrated hers a few weeks ago and mine is on Sunday. We’d planned this excursion before Patricia blew onto the scene and for a while it looked like we’d be canceling our trip. Thankfully, the hurricane missed Puerto Vallarta so it’s full steam ahead. I’ve got a pocket full of pesos and a hunger for tequilla, rum and tacos—in that order.

I look forward to sharing our adventures with you. If you hear about a chubby American tourist stranded at the bottom of a zip line, don’t laugh too hard; it just might be me. Take care and see you in two weeks.

After a few shots of tequila, this could be me!

You have a great time! It is so wonderful to get away, clear the head (or fog it up with tequila) and then you can enjoy your home when you are back and finish your project. If I can do can...I was shaking so bad due to my phobic fear of heights

It stopped raining, finally. I think I get what they meant about the pacific northwest in those movies i watch all the time. was seriously borderline to moving to south America... for a little while :) Anywho... I've been away again (as usual) but plan on posting later today. I'm not looking forward to the terrible cold that's coming, I guess that's what you mean talking about blowing your hands to warm them. I'm not ready.... :) BUT, safe travels and can't wait to see the pictures and hear the stories. mmmm tacos

I loved Puerto Vallarta when we lived in Mexico but I grew, also, to love a small village south of Manzanillo named Cuyutlan. If you have a chance you should experience it.
